MQSoftware is seeking a Senior Pre-Sales System Engineer to support sales efforts with transaction monitoring, application monitoring and WebSphere MQ configuration management products.

  • Direct Experience as a Systems Engineer selling complex software products and solutions to Fortune 500 customers as part of an integrated sales team.
  • Strong technical background on a variety of technologies including JEE Application Servers, WebSphere MQ, TIBCO, BEA, WebSphere Message Broker, JMS, Databases and Legacy Systems.
  • Strong analytical skills in identifying customer application processes and mapping them to a monitoring solution beneficial to the customer.
  • Ability to understand complex application architectures and provide transaction monitoring solutions mapped to customer requirements.
  • Project management experience in pre-sale and post-sale engagements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Expertise in two or more of the following environments: Windows 2003/XP, UNIX (Sun Solaris, IBM AIX, HP-UX), OS/390, OS/400.
  • Knowledge of DB2 and Oracle.
  • 5+ years experience in high technology with 3 or more years in a consulting or pre-sales role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or related experience.

The Senior Pre-Sales Systems Engineer is responsible for technical support of the sale of MQSoftware products, including:

  • Qualifying, validating and ensuring the appropriate technical sales strategy
  • Working on a sales team with Field Sales professionals
  • Presenting the technical features, competitive advantages and business benefits of products and solutions
  • Delivering successful product demonstrations as they apply to the customer’s needs
  • Installing and configuring company’s products for evaluation purposes
  • Knowledge transfer/training as needed
  • Manage onsite customer Proof of Concepts projects
  • Leading technical RFIs/RFPs responses
  • Assisting prospects in the resolution of technical problems, and addressing concerns
