Q Pasa! Services

Smooth Start

Is your SOA and broader integration infrastructure harder to manage than it should be? Do you feel caught in the middle of providing service to all of your endpoint applications? When properly implemented, Q Pasa! can help you get control of your environment by proactively identifying problems, correlating monitoring information across virtually all SOA integration technologies including IBM’s WebSphere and BEA’s WebLogic and Aqualogic suites, and allowing historical analysis of service performance and availability information. An experienced MQSoftware can get your implementation off on the right foot with a clean base configuration and a well-established set of best practice policies and procedures.

Smooth Start deliverables:

  • Q Pasa! services will be installed and configured on any of the Q Pasa! supported systems - AIX, Solaris, or Windows - including security, backup, and recovery.
  • Q Pasa! Agents will be installed on all systems to be monitored. They will be configured to gather all supported and desired monitoring information from supported technologies on the specified system. For a full list of supported Agent platforms and technologies, see the Q Pasa! Product Documentation. If you wish to monitor technologies or systems not on the list, a straightforward Q Pasa! Extension Services Offering will add that capability to Q Pasa!.
  • The Q Pasa! agents will be configured to communicate with the Q Pasa! services.
  • Monitoring will be activated and tested for all required and supported objects.
  • Connectivity to external enterprise monitoring consoles e.g. Tivoli, HP-Open View, etc. will be configured.
  • Out of the box Event and History Templates will be linked to monitored objects according to your design.
  • Up to 10 basic dashboard views and their underlying will be created to get you started with the correlation of data from disparate systems and technologies. If you need more views, see the Q Pasa! Dashboard Development services offering.
  • Procedures will be established for creating and associating new Event Templates, History Templates, and Dashboard Views.
  • The MQSoftware Consultant will provide knowledge transfer related to Q Pasa! and SOA management principles to your administrators, architects, and developers.

Smooth Start prerequisites:

  • Q Pasa! software purchased and delivered.
  • Systems with the appropriate hardware and software resources for Q Pasa! Services. If you are uncertain of this, contact MQSoftware Support or your MQSoftware Sales.
  • Systems to be monitored have basic TCP network connectivity to the intended Q Pasa! Service System.
  • A System Administrator for each of the systems will be available to provide appropriate administrative level logins.
  • Future Q Pasa! Administrators are available for knowledge transfer.

Duration: +3 days depending upon the number of systems to be configured.

A rough formula is:
2 Days for groundwork, service installation and configuration, and knowledge transfer, and policy establishment.
Up to 10 Agent Extensions (technology monitors) on distributed systems or 5 Agent Extensions (technology monitors) on mainframe systems per day. Note: additional time may be required for particularly diverse sets of monitored technologies.
