WebSphere Service Registry & Repository Services

Implementation Planning

Are you evaluating integration solutions including WebSphere Service Registry & Repository? Have you purchased WebSphere Service Registry & Repository and need to use it? MQSoftware can tell you exactly what it takes to implement Service Registry & Repository in your environment.

In our Implementation Planning engagement, a MQSoftware consultant will work with your architects and project managers to develop an appropriate Service Lifecycle for your enterprise, recommend technical governance procedures for services, and formalize definitions of existing services. In addition, we’ll define service level metadata templates for services, define service dependency metadata, and create listings of hardware and software sizing and requirements for WSRR itself. The engagement also includes the creation of a complete project plan for implementation, and defines training curricula for Service Registry & Repository users and administrators.

Implementation Planning deliverables:

  • A Service Lifecycle defined in Web Ontology Language (OWL) and documented in human readable format matching your enterprise practices. Note: WSRR supplies a default service lifecycle definition if you have no existing enterprise governance practices.
  • Procedures for the creation, modeling, development/assembly, deployment, testing/approval, management, deprecation, and retirement of services and for any customized steps in your service lifecycle.
  • Formalized definitions of existing services in WSDL with associated descriptive metadata appropriate for import into the WebSphere Service Registry & Repository.
  • WS-Policy compliant metadata templates for Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Agreements (SLAs).
  • Service dependency mappings for existing services and metadata templates for representation of service dependency.
  • Training plans for administrators, developers, architects, and/or managers dealing with WebSphere Service Registry & Repository.
  • Hardware requirements and sizing for WebSphere Service Registry & Repository installation.
  • Software prerequisites for Service Registry & Repository implementation.
  • Implementation project plan.
  • The MQSoftware Consultant will provide knowledge transfer related to WebSphere Service Registry & Repository to your administrators, architects, managers, and developers.

Implementation Planning prerequisites:

  • Architects and project managers are available for project planning and knowledge transfer.
  • Definitions of enterprise lifecycle and existing governance policy documents are available for the project. If no policy documents exist, personnel who can authoritatively describe such procedures must be available during the project.

Duration: 2-5 weeks dependent upon the size of the implementation.
