MQS1118: WebSphere Application Server SOA Components Manager's Technical Introduction
Overview:
This one day course is an introductory discussion of the SOA components (the WebSphere Platform Messaging, WebSphere Service Integration Bus, WebSphere ESB, and WebSphere Process Server) of WebSphere Application Server at a high level focused on providing the student with an understanding of the integration and SOA related capabilities of WebSphere Application Server.
Who Should Take This Course:
This course is designed for high-level technical managers wishing to have a brief introduction to the SOA capabilities of WebSphere Application Server without the detail attendant in MQSoftware’s more technical courses. Note this course is not a prerequisite to those courses. Similar introductory courses are available for the other technologies in the WebSphere Business Integration Family (see courses numbered MQS111X). Architects wishing a more thorough introduction to the product family as a whole should consider our MQS1181 course.
Topics Include:
- An introductory discussion of WebSphere Application Server (WAS) at a high level focused on the product architecture
- An introduction to Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
- An introduction to the concepts of the Java Message Service (JMS) specification and the JMS providers available within WAS
- An introduction to the WebSphere ESB and its mediation capabilities, an introduction to the orchestration capabilities of WebSphere Process Server.
Prerequisites:
Familiarity with Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) concepts is beneficial but not required.
