Overview:
This one day course is an introductory discussion of the concepts, Features and functions of WebSphere Application Server. This course is designed for a high level technical Managers wishing to have a brief introduction to WebSphere Application Server practices with the labs and technical detail of the full administrator courses.
Who Should Take This Course:
This course is designed for high-level technical managers wishing to have a brief introduction to WebSphere Application Server without the detail attendant in MQSoftware’s more technical courses. Note this course is not a prerequisite to those courses. Similar introductory courses are available for the other technologies in the WebSphere Family (see courses numbered MQS111X). Architects wishing a more thorough introduction to the product family as a whole should consider our MQS1181 course.
What You Are Taught:
- An introductory discussion of WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
- Product Architecture
- Implementation of core JEE specifications including JDBC (database connectivity), JMS (messaging), JNDI (naming services), JAAS (security), JTA (transactions) JMX (management), and JCA (adaptors)
- Paradigms for application development using WAS including Servlets, Java Server Pages, and Enterprise Java Beans (Session, Entity and Message Driven)
- High availability and server federation with WAS Clusters and Cells
- Performance and Tuning
- Deployment Automation capability
- Security considerations
Prerequisites:
Familiarity with Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) concepts is beneficial but not required.
