MQS1123M: WebSphere MQ Troubleshooting – Mainframe

Overview:

This course may be delivered for distributed platforms or mainframe.
See MQS1123D for distributed patform.

When managing a sophisticated WebSphere MQ network, an administrator has three primary tasks to ensure a smoothly operating middleware environment. First, it is critical that the systems and their connections be configured in accord with established best practices and appropriately for the available hardware and messaging volumes. Second, the administrator must establish mechanisms to proactively detect problems and correct their underlying causes. Third, the administrator must clearly understand application performance and its limitations (as established through testing) in order to establish business cases to improve bottlenecks rather than scattershot reworking of entire systems. Attendees in this course will gain experience in all three of these areas through classroom lecture describing configuration best practices, sizing techniques, problem detection and correction procedures, tracing and error handling techniques, and performance testing and analysis methods. The concepts will be further demonstrated through hands-on exercise addressing each of the main topics.
