Overview:
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive tour of the features and functions of WebSphere MQ Everyplace (MQe). All key concepts are reinforced with hands-on labs to ensure that attendees leave with practical experience.
Who should take this course:
This course is designed for individuals needing to learn how to design, implement and manage an WebSphere MQ Everyplace environment.
What you are taught:
- Problems that MQe is designed to solve
- Common MQe topologies
- Local Queuing (the basics)
- Synchronous remote queuing (transparent network links)
- Asynchronous remote queuing (fire and forget messaging)
- Store and Forward queuing (pull model)
- Product Installation and Configuration
- Queue Manager creation and properties
- Local Queues and their properties
- Messages and Messaging
- Fields Objects
- MQe messages
- Scope (not details) of the Available API
- Connections and Remote Queuing
- Home Server Queues
- Security
- Relations with the rest of the WebSphere Family
- Creating and configuring the MQe Bridge Queues
- MQe Input and Output nodes in WebSphere MQ Integrator
Topics Include:
The course begins with a discussion of installation of the product and the available MQe object types for planning of topologies including exercises to install MQe on Windows NT and configure simple local topologies. The next section of the course discusses the detailed setup of queue managers, queues, and connections with their standard properties including exercise to configure both synchronous and asynchronous remote queuing as well as store and forward topologies.
The final main section discusses the more advanced quality of service attributes for connection (cryptors, authenticators, and compressors) and the implementation of links between MQe and WebSphere MQ or WebSphere MQ Integrator to construct larger topologies including exercises to implement these concepts.
Prerequisites:
Basic understanding of messaging architectures.
