Who should take this course:
This introductory course was especially designed for the individual who will be designing and developing WebSphere Message Broker message flows.
Topics include:
- An introductory discussion of WebSphere Message Broker at a high level focused on the WMB message flow developer. Comprehensive lectures will cover the use of WebSphere Message Broker in a team development environment.
- Discussion of the behavior of WebSphere Message Broker message flows as nested subroutines including error handling and data preservation techniques.
- A thorough discussion of all WebSphere Message Broker nodes, their terminals and properties related to the design and development of message flows.
- Exercises to reinforce all key concepts including building basic message flows, adding error handling to them, and to building them into reusable sub-flows.
- Handling of the logical message tree within the Message Broker for the purposes of transformation is discussed in detail including a thorough discussion of all ESQL functions for building target data structures through queries on incoming data structures.
- Alternative transformation mechanisms including Java and XSL based transformations are also described and illustrated.
- The set of available parsers is described and thoroughly exercised with lecture and hands on labs dealing with fixed record (C/COBOL) data, XML data structures (both well formed XML and valid XML through DTDs and Schema), and tagged/delimited data.
- More complex message flow paradigms including Aggregation and status queue based message flows, Timer based message flows, and complex routing (Destination Lists and Publish Subscribe) are described.
