Overview:
This four and a half day course is designed to provide a comprehensive tour of the features and functions of WebSphere MQ Workflow using WebSphere Business Integration WorkBench. All key concepts are reinforced with hands-on labs to ensure that attendees leave with practical experience.

Topics Include:
An introductory discussion of Workflow at a high level focused on providing the student with an understanding of the WebSphere MQ Workflow product architecture and functionality. Comprehensive lectures will cover the use of the WBI modeler to model business processes, define staff and handle work distribution, invoke programs and pass data. Students will complete the modeling of several business processes using the WBI Modeler. The modeled processes will be deployed to the WebSphere MQ Workflow environment to insure students experience a full workflow implementation. A thorough examination of administration tasks will include discussions and exercises using the available utilities, troubleshooting and error handling, the audit trail, and tracing hands-on lab exercises to reinforce all key concepts including building process models, using sub-processes and blocks, testing models, the client interfaces, and administrative tasks. Additional exercises demonstrate the use of the XML interface to integrate with messaging applications and to create and start process instances. Both the standard client and the web client interfaces will be used to explore the end user environment.
Prerequisites:
None. However, general business process design knowledge would be beneficial.
