MQS1184: Developing Mediations for WebSphere Application Server
Overview:
Applications developed within a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) expose only a their data structures and protocols to the outside world. In order for two such services to communicate, they must agree on these two items. Where such agreement is not possible, it is necessary to develop a Mediation Service to communicate with the services on both ends. WebSphere Application Server provides a development and hosting framework for these Mediation Services. This course will provide students with the critical skills necessary to thoroughly understand and effectively use the WebSphere Application Server Mediation Service, including the design of applications, the development of mediation code (in Java), and deployment of mediations using the WebSphere Application Server framework.
This is an advanced course designed to provide students with detailed technical knowledge of the product. Correspondingly, students are expected to understand the fundamentals of Java programming and J2EE application server architectures. More specifically, students should have a good grasp of the WebSphere Default Messaging Provider and JMS programming at the level of MQSoftware’s WebSphere Application Server Default Messaging (MQS1182) course. (Note: This is not a course on IBM’s WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (WESB) product. Students interested in learning about WebSphere ESB are advised to take MQSoftware’s MQS1186 course.) The course uses extensive hands-on exercises to reinforce the tutorial information, allowing the student to fully explore and gain real-world experience with Message Oriented Middleware applications using the WebSphere Application Server Mediation Service.
Who Should Take This Course:
